Neurodivergence Resources for Teens & Young Adults

Neurodivergent teens and young adults experience higher rates of mental health concerns, including comorbid psychiatric disorders, social isolation, and bias at school or work.

Teen & young adult neurodivergence

Neurodivergence encompasses several conditions related to the way different brains function. Common neurodivergent conditions include ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, and learning differences.

Neurodivergence operates under the understanding that differences don’t equate to disabilities — which is how many of these conditions have been historically labeled. As much as 20% of the world’s population falls under the umbrella of neurodivergence. But with depression as a highly common comorbidity, neurodiverse teens and young adults (and their parents) need to realize when it’s time to get professional help.
