What is IOP?
Intensive outpatient programming (IOP) is a level of behavioral healthcare that is typically more structured and intensive than traditional weekly therapy.
The goal of IOP is to provide individuals with the support and treatment they need to manage their mental health issues and achieve lasting recovery, while still allowing them to maintain their daily routines and responsibilities.

Individual therapy
One-on-one connections are critical to the IOP model, which is why each client’s unique treatment plan includes a primary therapist for weekly individual sessions.
Family therapy
The #1 predictor of success in IOP is family involvement. Our virtual intensive outpatient program’s family therapy component teaches communication and coping skills to create a more supportive home environment both during and after treatment.

IOP is designed for individuals who need more treatment and support than can be provided through once-weekly therapy, but who do not require the level of care provided through residential or inpatient treatment.

The most important aspect of Charlie Health is how quickly I could access care and how forgiving the program is if you cannot commit the first time you enroll. If you can't, you can't, but you can always try again when ready. I cannot say the same thing about many mental health providers out there that have strong attendance policies that bar you from the entire practice if you do not comply. The simple fact is that you cannot grow in barren soil. I had to change many aspects of my life, which included exiting extremely toxic and volatile environments before I could sit down and focus on attending several hours of the group every week for several consecutive weeks. I grew up fearing disappointment or failing to meet expectations. I then lived out my high school years feeling like I might disturb others in my classes and more. I feared being ostracized and forgotten, whether intentional or not. I didn’t want to disappoint anyone and I felt I needed to prove myself to them. But because of the unconditional support within this program and from those I've since learned to grow close to and love (like my friends and family), I question myself less.
