What is IOP?
Intensive outpatient programming (IOP) is a level of behavioral healthcare that is typically more structured and intensive than traditional weekly therapy.
The goal of IOP is to provide individuals with the support and treatment they need to manage their mental health issues and achieve lasting recovery, while still allowing them to maintain their daily routines and responsibilities.
Curated groups
By bringing people with similar mental health challenges together, we’re able to create group environments where clients can learn how to build connections and foster long-term healing.
Individual therapy
One-on-one connections are critical to the IOP model, which is why each client’s unique treatment plan includes a primary therapist for weekly individual sessions.
Family therapy
The #1 predictor of success in IOP is family involvement. Our virtual intensive outpatient program’s family therapy component teaches communication and coping skills to create a more supportive home environment both during and after treatment.
Who is IOP for?
People with ongoing mental health issues or in a mental health crisis
IOP is designed for individuals who need more treatment and support than can be provided through once-weekly therapy, but who do not require the level of care provided through residential or inpatient treatment.

What our clients say
“I was absolutely blown away by just how much I learned in the 12 weeks I was at Charlie Health.”
I was super skeptical of going into online therapy, specifically DBT, because I didn't think it would help compared to going to counseling/therapy in person. But I was absolutely blown away by just how much I learned in the 12 weeks I was at Charlie Health. The group sessions were always very informative, and the Group Facilitators talked you through so much and answered as many questions as you had. They're very engaging and help you dive deeper into your mind to help you, help yourself mentally. The one-on-one sessions with my therapist were even better! I didn't think I had any more to learn about myself, but they helped me to realize why I do things in a certain way or even what might've "rewired" my brain along the way. I 100% recommend Charlie Health to anyone who might be struggling mentally or just needs some help navigating through the difficult thoughts in their life.

“I plan to bring this newfound confidence into the rest of my life using the skills I've learned.”
I knew that I needed longer-term help than a short hospital stay could provide. I then found Charlie Health, whose virtual groups really appealed to me, given my current work and home life. From the first group session I attended, I connected with people, made a few real friends even, and was able to focus on my growth knowing I could open up to people who really understood me. I got out of my shell. I plan to bring this newfound confidence into the rest of my life using the skills I've learned and remembering the growing support network I've made. Thank you, Charlie Health, for everything that you do.

“So many people are willing to guide you and to give you a universal reminder: You are not alone.”
When I first entered Charlie Health, my initial thought was that I'd probably be stuck here or worse: I'd end up in a facility or dead. My mental health was at an all-time low. I was harboring so much resentment, anger, and sadness over everything. What was worse was that my whole family seemed to have those same feelings aimed in my direction because of what led me here. Initially, I was reticent when participating in groups. I didn't know how to act. How to be. In my mind, there had to be a perfect way. But over time, that mask fell. Weeks went by, and I started to come out of my shell, going from a hardened, disturbed person to someone who could somehow see the good in everything. Granted, there are still things that have been happening to me offscreen that I can't control. But, because of Charliehealth, I'm much stronger. I can use the skills and techniques I've learned over the last few months to combat all of those negative thoughts and experiences as they happen. That's not to say there wouldn't be any struggling. Struggling is a part of that process. But it's a matter of continuing to push through that blizzard, those waves of emotions that will help you see the journey through. That's how I continue to look at it, even after discharge. Nothing, especially letting go, is never easy. Here, however, so many people are willing to guide you and to give you a universal reminder: You are not alone.
