Online therapy in Milwaukee
Suicide is the second leading cause of death for youth in Wisconsin.
More than 90% of Charlie Health clients reported improvements in their most severe mental health symptoms.
What is IOP?
Intensive outpatient programming (IOP) is a level of behavioral healthcare that is typically more structured and intensive than traditional weekly therapy.
The goal of IOP is to provide individuals with the support and treatment they need to manage their mental health issues and achieve lasting recovery, while still allowing them to maintain their daily routines and responsibilities.
Curated groups
By bringing people with similar mental health challenges together, we’re able to create group environments where clients can learn how to build connections and foster long-term healing.
Individual therapy
One-on-one connections are critical to the IOP model, which is why each client’s unique treatment plan includes a primary therapist for weekly individual sessions.
Family therapy
The #1 predictor of success in IOP is family involvement. Our virtual intensive outpatient program’s family therapy component teaches communication and coping skills to create a more supportive home environment both during and after treatment.
Who is IOP for?
People with ongoing mental health issues or in a mental health crisis
IOP is designed for individuals who need more treatment and support than can be provided through once-weekly therapy, but who do not require the level of care provided through residential or inpatient treatment.

What our clients say
“Very empowering and validating.”
I started Charlie Health in a very, very dark state. I was so low that I didn't know what to do. Slowly, as I learned to open up in group and implement some of the strategies covered, I gained more tools to be able to combat my obstacles. I am far from cured or even better than where I've always been, but for the first time, I feel like i have the methodology to get there. It's been very empowering and validating, I've learned so much about myself here.

“I am so happy I gave it a chance.”
I had reached a point in my life where something had to give. I was either going to succumb to my trauma and depression or need to go to an inpatient facility. I found Charlie Health through the military and was scared at first and wasn’t sure it would help, but I am so happy I gave it a chance. My husband and immediate family have noticed a significant difference in my countenance and behaviors. I am lighter and happier. I can be faced with stress and not be overwhelmed by it. I now have a clean and healthy slate to begin handling my trauma. I will recommend the CBT groups to everyone. My family will forever be changed by the generational traumas I have worked on breaking. My children will get to have a whole mother who is not weighed down by her grief, depression, or anxiety. My husband now has a partner who can communicate, and we will continue to cultivate a healthy and loving friendship and marriage.

“The virtual nature of the program saved my life.”
Charlie Health showed up for me at a time when I needed support the most but was trapped in an area where the resources simply didn't exist. The virtual nature of the program saved my life because it kept me out of the hospital and in my home with my family. The other patients I met in my group spaces were the most supportive humans, and being able to connect with them about experiences that I felt so alone in was one of the most healing parts of my journey here.
