What is IOP?
Intensive outpatient programming (IOP) is a level of behavioral healthcare that is typically more structured and intensive than traditional weekly therapy.
The goal of IOP is to provide individuals with the support and treatment they need to manage their mental health issues and achieve lasting recovery, while still allowing them to maintain their daily routines and responsibilities.
Curated groups
By bringing people with similar mental health challenges together, we’re able to create group environments where clients can learn how to build connections and foster long-term healing.
Individual therapy
One-on-one connections are critical to the IOP model, which is why each client’s unique treatment plan includes a primary therapist for weekly individual sessions.
Family therapy
The #1 predictor of success in IOP is family involvement. Our virtual intensive outpatient program’s family therapy component teaches communication and coping skills to create a more supportive home environment both during and after treatment.
Who is IOP for?
People with ongoing mental health issues or in a mental health crisis
IOP is designed for individuals who need more treatment and support than can be provided through once-weekly therapy, but who do not require the level of care provided through residential or inpatient treatment.

What our clients say
“My mom said, 'We have our Maddy back'.”
Charlie Health was very helpful for me. I was able to come off a lot of my medications that were causing my mental health crisis. My mood improved so drastically that my mom said, "We have our Maddy back." I learned so many self-care skills that I didn't even know before. My mom even learned a lot more about how I communicate and what I need. I have been able to communicate better with my medical team because Charlie Health has helped me be more open with them. I have been able to advocate for my needs better. For example, the care provider for my braces knows that I am more comfortable seeing him in my home and when I need to go into his office he schedules it at the end of the day so I do not get over stimulated. He allows enough time for my care in my home or in the office.

“Charlie Health is honestly the best thing I've ever done for myself .”
Charlie Health is honestly the best thing I've ever done for myself and my mental health. The groups were engaging, and I learned so much from others' experiences with mental health and their journeys. The DBT skills group taught me skills and new perspectives that I had never considered before. DBT helped me in ways that CBT could not. I feel like I'm in control of my mental health now and that I have the skills necessary to cope with life's difficulties. Thank you so much for this experience!

“Charlie Health gave me a different perspective on my mental health.”
I learned about Charlie Health after going to the emergency room when I was feeling suicidal. The social worker there told me about the program, and it sounded like the best option because I figured something intensive would be good for me. My individual therapist at Charlie Health gave me a different perspective on my mental health and pointed out some coping skills that I already had. I also really liked the group aspect. Having other people around was very helpful. I learned a lot from their contributions.
