What is IOP?

Intensive outpatient programming (IOP) is a level of behavioral healthcare that is typically more structured and intensive than traditional weekly therapy.

The goal of IOP is to provide individuals with the support and treatment they need to manage their mental health issues and achieve lasting recovery, while still allowing them to maintain their daily routines and responsibilities.

Curated groups

By bringing young people with similar mental health challenges together, we’re able to create group environments where clients can learn how to build connections and foster long-term healing.

Individual therapy

One-on-one connections are critical to the IOP model, which is why each client’s unique treatment plan includes a primary therapist for weekly individual sessions.

Family therapy

The #1 predictor of success in IOP is family involvement. Our virtual intensive outpatient program’s family therapy component teaches communication and coping skills to create a more supportive home environment both during and after treatment.

What our clients say

“I loved my therapist and group facilitators.”

Mental health can be really dangerous when you are so deep-rooted in fear. Having this consistent support and reminders of my own worth has been so beneficial. I made beautiful art and made some of my closest friends in Charlie Health. I loved my therapist and group facilitators. They all knew how to listen and see things from another perspective. I am very grateful for that open-mindedness and overall safe place to feel my feelings.

—Emerson T.

“My confidence and sense of self-worth have grown a TON.”

I have seen a lot of growth within myself, and the people around me have seen it too. Even people I'm not super close with, such as coworkers, have noticed that I am handling stressful situations a lot better than I have in the past. I have gained weight (positive), I have learned so many tools to self soothe. My suicidal ideation is next to nothing. When the thoughts do pop up, I am able to remind myself that that's not truly what I want. My confidence and sense of self-worth have grown a TON. I am so happy with the care I got from Charlie Health.

—Sydney T.

“My primary therapist was amazing.”

"Charlie Health was a great experience. The groups provided a safe space for me to talk about my issues and they always set me up with people that were struggling with the same things as me, allowing us to develop a natural rapport. The group facilitators did a great job understanding our feelings and guiding us through the topics, clearing up any confusions we had, as well as being open to new ideas from our own experiences as well. At no time did I feel judged or pressured. My primary therapist was amazing; she was kind and smart, and she every week should would challenge me to see my mental health from a different perspective. She helped with a lot of methods to tackle my anxiety, and I will always remember the lessons and conversations we had. "
