What is IOP?

Intensive outpatient programming (IOP) is a level of behavioral healthcare that is typically more structured and intensive than traditional weekly therapy.

The goal of IOP is to provide individuals with the support and treatment they need to manage their mental health issues and achieve lasting recovery, while still allowing them to maintain their daily routines and responsibilities.

Curated groups

By bringing people with similar mental health challenges together, we’re able to create group environments where clients can learn how to build connections and foster long-term healing.

Individual therapy

One-on-one connections are critical to the IOP model, which is why each client’s unique treatment plan includes a primary therapist for weekly individual sessions.

Family therapy

The #1 predictor of success in IOP is family involvement. Our virtual intensive outpatient program’s family therapy component teaches communication and coping skills to create a more supportive home environment both during and after treatment.

In their words

What our clients say

“The skills that I learned saved my life. .”

My depression started really young, when I was 4 or 5 years old. I’ve dealt with so much since then—childhood sexual trauma, an eating disorder and then substance abuse. I flunked out of school and went on medical leave to find treatment. Charlie Health was the first thing I found. It’s given me the emotional maturity to handle hard things and I’ve gotten more emotional regulation, which is something I wish I had my entire life. The skills that I learned saved my life—my stressors are still there but how I react is completely different. It feels so good to have agency over my emotions. That's something I’ve never felt before.

—Demi G.

“I feel healed in my heart.”

Charlie Health saved my life from being filled with self-doubt and my worst impulsive thoughts. I found people who really got it and just wanted to see me thrive. People who helped me really understand in my body and mind that I wasn't crazy but that I really survived abuse. I think this program and the staff and clients alongside me are some of the people I can confidently say I will always hold in the highest esteem. I will remember every moment of this experience because I truly believe that I met the most compassionate and loving people I will ever know. Thank you to you all, I feel healed in my heart.

“I now know that I am worthy.”

13 weeks ago, I was ready to take my life. I was ready to end it all. From the built up anger, pain, grief, everything I ever carried, I was ready to let it all go. It took a near-fatal overdose to finally realize I needed help. I was optimistic about this program, but I didn’t care to open up or to hear other people's opinions at first. After week one, though, I had my first break through because I finally admitted that I wear a mask to cover my pain up. But I don't have to. Having group therapy has made things easier. Having that support from people that deal with the same things as me and knowing I’m not alone in the world has been amazing. If you put in the work, I strongly believe you can achieve so many new things. You'll be able to be the real you. Because of Charlie Health, I now know that I am worthy.
