No. Charlie Health is a time-limited program — typically 6–12 weeks. When treatment ends, we help coordinate the transition back to you if that’s an option. We’re not replacing your relationship with your patient; we’re supporting it through an acute period.
Which patients should
you refer to Charlie Health?
Charlie Health’s virtual behavioral health program is built for kids, teens, and adults ages 8–64 who need more than weekly therapy but don’t require hospitalization. IOP may be the right next step if a patient isn’t progressing or their symptoms are escalating.
Patients who are stable enough to receive care at home and experiencing:
- Intense anger, irritability, or sudden changes in behavior or mood
- Persistent sadness or anxiety
- Withdrawal from friends, family, or work
- Trauma
- Recent self-harm or thoughts of suicide
- PTSD
- + more
If someone is in crisis, call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Call 911 for immediate danger.
How a referral works
You handle the referral.
We handle everything else.
When you refer a patient to us, we treat them with the same commitment you would. We’ll keep you in the loop and coordinate the transition back to your care if that’s an option.
-
Referral
Submit a referral through our secure online form or by calling our Admissions Team. If you have a designated Charlie Health contact, mention their name.
-
Treatment
Request progress updates with appropriate consent and, in some cases, continue seeing your patient (if their insurance allows).
-
Discharge
Receive a discharge summary and aftercare plan at treatment completion. If a return to your care is the right next step, we’ll help coordinate that transition.
