Following the death of my father, I couldn't find it in myself to leave my home or connect with the people I loved. I learned here that there are people in our lives who are considered roots; people who are such a part of your existence that they provide nourishment. My dad was my root, and he still is. But even when a tree falls, the root may remain. I've practiced mindfulness, journaled, created, and cried to the point of watering my root and feeding myself from it.
